In the past five years
Dean Flaherty and his administration have re-engineered every aspect of RUSM curriculum, from basic sciences through clinical training and preparation for residency.
Student services, academic support, and clinical operations have all been strengthened to ensure every graduate is ready for a successful career.
2015: More than 800 RUSM graduates earned US residency appointments.
2014: RUSM students achieved a 97% first-time pass rate on the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE) Step 1 exams, slightly higher than the average pass rate for all U.S. medical schools at 96% (and we have matched U.S. and Canadian schools in each of the past four years).
- RUSM plans to help fill the growing need for primary care physicians in the U.S.
- In 2015, over two-thirds of the residency placements were in primary care programs (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics).
- Over 11,000 alumni strong with many students who have committed to primary care specialties contributing to the overall physician shortage of primary care professionals in the US.
